Beetroot Detroit 2 Crimson Globe (Beta vulgaris) is a classic, globe-rooted variety known for its deep red colour, smooth skin, and sweet, earthy flavour. With excellent uniformity and resistance to zoning, this dependable crop is ideal for raised beds, containers, and successional sowing perfect for fresh eating, preserving, and juicing.
 
 
Thriving in fertile, well-drained soil, Detroit 2 Crimson Globe flourishes in full sun and produces round, tender roots with rich pigmentation and crisp texture. Its vibrant tops are also edible, making it a dual purpose addition to the kitchen garden.

Sowing Instructions
 
Outdoors:
Sow seeds thinly in rows 2 cm deep and 30 cm apart from March to July. Water regularly and thin seedlings to 10 cm spacing once established. Harvest when roots reach golf-ball to tennis-ball size for best flavour and texture.
 
Successional Sowing:
Sow every 3–4 weeks for a continuous supply. Later sowings can be lifted and stored for winter use. Remove any woody or oversized roots to maintain quality.
