Osteospermum Limpopo Seeds

 

A low growing annual producing a delightful mix of daisy like flowers in soft pastel shades, including many attractive bi colours.

 

Limpopo forms neat, spreading plants that create excellent ground cover in sunny borders, gravel gardens, and coastal sites, while also thriving in pots and containers on a sunny patio. Easy to grow and long flowering, it brings a cheerful splash of colour from early summer right through to autumn.

Sow March to June directly outdoors or under cover for earlier displays.

Germination 14 to 28 days in warm, steady conditions.

Soil and Position Prefers loam, chalk, or sandy soils; tolerant of acidic, alkaline, or neutral conditions. Best in full sun.

Height Approx 45 cm; compact, spreading habit.

Flowering June to October; deadhead regularly to prolong flowering.

Good Companions Ideal with other sun loving bedding plants such as marigolds, calendula, and lobelia.

Avoid Pairing With Shade loving plants that require damp conditions.

 

Sowing Instructions

 

Sow from March to June on the surface of moist compost in trays or pots, lightly pressing seeds into the surface. Keep at a steady temperature until seedlings emerge. Alternatively, sow directly outdoors where they are to flower in finely prepared soil. Thin or transplant to 20 cm spacing.

 

Grow and Maintenance

 

Grow in full sun in free draining soil. Water regularly while establishing, then moderately thereafter. Deadhead spent blooms to encourage continuous flowering. Protect from frost or treat as an annual in colder regions.
