Turnip Snowball Seeds - Irish Plants Direct

This fast growing variety has rounded pure white flesh with a mild sweet flavour the tops can be used as tasty greens use as a catch crop between other vegetables.

Do not plant with Potatoes, radish or any other root vegetable.

??Harvest around 5cm in diameter leave the main crop to grow until October or November. Turnip tops can be harvested as greens if they are picked when they are young.

??A good source of vitamin C

??Use roasted, mashed or boiled.

Turnips are brassicas that will grow a sunny area that has well drained fertile soil that was well dug in autumn that is not acidic liming may be necessary.

Sow seed 1.25cm deep leaving 15cm between rows in open ground from April until August thin the seedlings to 3cm then again to 10cm.
