Description

Venidium Seeds - Irish Plants Direct

This easy to grow annual has white sunflower like flowers with a dark central ring over silver green deeply cut foliage.

They make a lovely border plant or are suitable for container displays on a sunny patio.

Sow March - May

Germination takes 10 - 14 days

Loam or sandy soil that's acidic, alkaline or neutral

Height 60cm

Plant in sun - partial shade

Flowering time June -October

Planting ideas Beds, borders, cottage, wilflower, coastal, pots and containers, cut flower

Deadhead to prolong flowering

Sow between March - April into a tray of moist compost and place on a warm sunny window sill or in a greenhouse.

When the plants are large enough to handle plant into tray spacing the seedlings 5cm apart or individual pots or modules to grow on.

Gradually harden the plants off before planting out after the risk of frost had past.

Alternatively sow outdoors in May into finely raked moist soil 5cm deep keep the soil well watered until the plants are established.

Thin the seedlings as required.
