Knautia Red Knight Seeds - Irish Plants Direct

This long flowering herbaceous perennial has deep red pin cushion like flowers that stand on slender stems above clump forming foliage.

They make an excellent border plant that will attract a range of wildlife in to the garden.

Loam, chalk or sandy soil thats alkaline or neutral

Deadhead to prolong flowering

Sow the seed between May - July in a seed tray on to moist compost cover with 5mm of sieved compost.

When the plants are are large enough to handle pot on into individual pots to grow on.

Plant out in autumn into their final flowering position to flower the following year.
