True Murtle Seeds - Irish Plants Direct

This native Mediterranean evergreen shrub has oval shaped glossy green leaves with sweet scented white flowers during summer followed by small purple black fruits.

The fruits are edible but are source.

Soak the seed for 24 hours before sowing in warm water.

Sow the seed year round into pots or trays of moist compost covering lightly and place on a sunny window sill or in a propagator the temperature needs to be between 20° - 25°.

Cover the pot with clear polythene to retain moisture.

Remove regularly so mould doesn't form.

When the plants are large enough to handle transplant into individual pots to grow on.
