This fast growing easy to grow vegetable has high yields of rounded dark green leaves with a tender sweet flavour.

 

Sow twice a year to over winter harvesting the baby leaves for salad and the larger leaves for steaming.

This plant is one of the most productive in the garden and responds well to repeat cutting of the leaves. Spinach needs a free draining fertile soil in sun or partial shade that is not acidic adding lime may be necessary. 

Keep well watered in dry weather. 

 

Sow the seed thinly between late March - April then again between August - September in a drill 2.5cm deep and 30cm between rows when the seedlings appear and are large enough to handle space the plants 25cm apart.
