Sorrel Red Veined Herb Seeds - Irish Plants Direct

This attractive vegetable has bright green pointed leaves with deep red veins a tasty and colourful addition to salads when picked young or can be left to mature to use like spinach.

Sow March - September

Germination takes between 14 - 21days

All soil types that are acidic or neutral

Harvest May - October

Companion Plants Thyme, sage, rosemary and strawberries.

Do not plant with beans, peas and corn

Pick some leaves from each plant when they are young for a continuous supply

A good source of vitamin A.

Use in Salads or as spinach

Make small successional sowings in fertile well drained soil in a sheltered spot to ensure a good supply of leaves throughout the summer months.

Sow outside between late March - September in rows where they are to grow 1.5cm deep and 30cm between rows. When the seedlings appear thin to 15cm apart.
