Sowing & Growing

When to Sow February to September under cover or directly outdoors

Germination 7 to 14 days at 10–20°C

Soil & Position Fertile well drained soil enriched with compost; prefers full sun or partial shade

Height 20–25cm with compact head formation

Harvest 10 to 12 weeks from sowing; suitable for successional sowings to extend the season

 

Sowing Instructions

Prepare a fine seed bed in full sun or partial shade. Sow seeds thinly in drills 1cm deep and 25cm apart. Thin seedlings to 20cm spacing once established. Water well after sowing and keep soil evenly moist during dry spells. Succession sowings every 2 to 3 weeks extend the harvest season.
