Sowing & Growing

When to Sow February to May directly outdoors in prepared seed beds

Germination 7 to 14 days at 10–15°C

Soil & Position Fertile, well?drained soil enriched with compost; prefers full sun

Height 60–75cm with upright growth

Harvesting June to August with heavy crops of sweet pods eaten whole

 

Sowing Instructions

Sow seeds in shallow drills 3–5cm deep, spaced 5cm apart in rows 45cm apart. Water well after sowing. Support plants with pea sticks or netting as they grow. Successional sowings every 2–3 weeks extend the harvest season.

 

Grow & Maintenance

Grow in fertile soil with regular watering during dry periods. Pea Record thrives in sunny sites and benefits from mulching to retain moisture. Pick pods regularly while young and tender to encourage continued cropping. Suitable for allotments, vegetable beds, and organic gardening. Protect young seedlings from slugs and birds.
