Geranium Mr F's Mophead Mixed F1 produces compact well branched plants with glossy aromatic foliage that perform superbly in containers hanging baskets and sunny borders.

 

Bred for strong flowering and uniform growth these F1 hybrids offer excellent heat tolerance long lasting blooms and easy maintenance making them ideal for summer displays and mixed patio containers.

Sow February to April under cover or March to May for late starts

Germination 7 to 21 days at 18 to 22°C with consistent moisture

Soil Light to medium well drained enriched potting compost neutral to slightly alkaline

Height 25 to 40 cm spread 30 to 45 cm

Flowering June to September with continued flowering in mild seasons

Good Companions Lobelia bacopa calibrachoa petunia trailing salvias

Avoid Pairing With Heavy shade or waterlogged soils

 

Sowing Instructions

 

Start seeds indoors February to April for best results. Sow thinly on the surface or cover very lightly in trays of fine moist seed compost and maintain temperatures of 18 to 22°C. Keep compost evenly moist not waterlogged. Seedlings emerge in 7 to 21 days. Prick out into modules once true leaves form and grow on at slightly cooler temperatures to produce sturdy plants. Harden off and plant out after the last frost spacing plants 25 to 35 cm apart. For later displays sow in March to May and grow on for container use.

 

Grow in full sun to light shade with sharply drained fertile compost. Water regularly during establishment and reduce watering frequency once plants are established to encourage deeper rooting. Feed with a balanced liquid fertiliser every two weeks during the flowering season to maintain blooms. Remove spent flowers to keep plants tidy and pinch back early growth if needed to promote bushier habit. Protect tender plants from hard frost and lift containers into frost free storage for winter if required.
