This easy to grow decorative variety of chard has outstanding red stems with contrasting foliage it has a superb rich earthy taste that is crossed between beetroot and rhubarb.

Loam or clay soil that's alkaline, acidic or neutral

Harvest July - November

Companion plants Cabbage, Kohlrabi, French Bean, Onion, and Tomato

Do not plant with Runner Beans

Harvest by cutting the stems at the bottom

A good source of vitamin A, C and K

Use for stir-fry, steam or braise

Sow outdoors between April and July into prepared seed bed 1.5cm deep sowing thinly in rows 40cm apart cover lightly and water. When the plants are large enough thin to 15cm apart to grow on keep the crop well watered to prevent bolting.
