This popular main crop variety has large dense white curds with a good flavour they are well protected by their leaves from the worst of the weather.

Cauliflowers require a deep fertile humus rich soil in partial shade that has been well dug in autumn, they do not grow well in acidic soil so adding lime to the soil may be necessary.

 

Water well when transplanting and during dry spells. 

 

Sow outside in a seed bed between April - June sowing thinly in drills 1.25cm deep thin the seedlings eventually spacing the plants 45cm apart and 60cm between rows in their final growing position treading the plant in well.
