This cottage garden perennial has beautiful clusters of purple flowers that stand majestically on tall sparse erect green stems.

An ideal back of the border plant that can be grown as an annual if desired.

An excellent pollinator for a variety.

Cut back after flowering

Sow between January - April on a warm window sill or propagator into trays of moist compost cover with 5mm of sieved compost.

When the seedlings are large enough to handle transplant into 5cm pots to grow on.

Gradually harden off the plants before planting out from April onwards after the risk of frost has passed.
