Sowing Instructions

Sow seeds on the surface of moist well drained compost and lightly cover with a fine layer of soil or vermiculite. Maintain a temperature of 18 to 22°C in a propagator or covered tray. Transplant seedlings into individual pots when large enough to handle. Grow on in warm bright conditions and harden off before planting out after the last frost. Provide support for cordon types and space plants according to their growth habit.

 

Grow and Maintenance

Water regularly and feed every one to two weeks with a high potash fertiliser once flowering begins. Remove side shoots on cordon varieties to encourage strong upright growth. Bush types require minimal training. Ensure good ventilation in greenhouses to reduce humidity and support healthy fruiting.
