Sowing Instructions

 

Sow seeds indoors from February- April in seed trays or small pots filled with fine compost. Cover lightly with compost and keep moist. Maintain a temperature of 18–22°C for optimal germination.

 

Once seedlings develop two true leaves, transplant them into larger pots and grow on in a warm, bright location. Harden off before planting outdoors after the risk of frost has passed. Space plants 45–60 cm apart in a sunny, sheltered location with support for climbing varieties.

 

Water regularly, feed with tomato fertiliser once flowering begins, and remove side shoots from indeterminate (cordon) types for better fruit production.
