Thyme Herb Seed.- Irish Plants Direct

This low growing hardy evergreen shrub small aromatic leaves that are smothered in pinky purple flowers during summer.

Grow this ornamental shrub in a flower border, rockery or in pots and containers.

Use as a medicinal plant to help ease coughs and sore throats, teas, syrup or in cooking seasoning various dishes.

Germination 7 - 21 days

Loam, chalk or sandy soil that's alkaline or neutral

Flowers June - July the following year

Grow in rockeries, gravel gardens, edging a border or pots and containers.

Sow seed in a propagator between March - April transplant into trays or individual pots to grow on.

Gradually accustom the plants to outside before planting out after all risk of frost has passed.

Sow the seed between April - June into a seed tray transplanting the seedling into individual pots to grow on when they are large enough to handle.

Plant out into their final flowering position in autumn to flower the following year.
