Sowing Instructions

 

Start seeds indoors from March to May for an early harvest. Sow in trays or pots 1 cm deep, keeping the soil moist at a temperature of 15–20°C. Transplant seedlings outdoors once they are strong enough and after the risk of frost has passed.

 

Direct sow from April to August in well-prepared soil. Sow seeds 2 cm apart in rows 30 cm apart, covering lightly with soil. Thin seedlings to 30 cm spacing once they are large enough to handle. Keep plants well-watered, especially in dry periods, and remove outer leaves regularly to encourage new growth.
