Sunflower Esther Seeds - Irish Plants Direct

These easy to grow bright and colourful annual flowers have a mix of golden yellow flowers in many shades some with contrasting dark centres.

Sunflowers are an excellent choice for encouraging wildlife into the garden.

Also known as Helianthus

Leave the seed heads over winter to feed the birds.

Sow between late April - May into a fine layer of raked warm moist soil 13mm deep where the plants are to grow space the plants to 30 - 45cm apart.

Alternatively sow during March on a sunny window sill in pots.

Gradually harden off planting the sunflowers 39 - 45cm apart.
