Sunflower Claret F1 is an easy-to-grow plant that thrives in sunny locations. It requires regular watering, particularly in dry spells, and benefits from well-drained soil to prevent root rot. Once established, it is relatively drought-tolerant. Deadheading will encourage additional blooms, and cutting back the plant after flowering will keep the garden tidy for the winter months.

 

Sowing Instructions

Indoors: Sow seeds in trays or pots filled with moist, well-drained compost from March to May. Lightly cover the seeds with a thin layer of compost or vermiculite. Maintain a temperature of 18-21°C and ensure the soil remains moist. Once seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant them into individual pots and harden off before planting outdoors after the last frost.

 

Outdoors: Sow directly into prepared, well-drained soil from April to May, once the risk of frost has passed. Plant the seeds 2.5 cm deep and keep moist until germination occurs. Thin seedlings to 30 cm apart to ensure good air circulation and strong growth.
