Poppy Island Mix Seeds

This elegant looking poppy has large paper like flowers in a delightful range of bright shades they stand on tall stems blooming from early summer.

 

This can be grown as an annual or biennial perfect for mixed beds and borders plant in drifts for a great effect. 

 

Seed Qty 0.3gram

 

Sow March - May or July - August 

Loam, chalk or sandy soil that's acidic, alkaline or neutral 

 

Sow in seed trays on the surface of moist compost between February - March then when the seedlings a large enough to handle transplant to individual pots to grow on gradually harden the plants off to plant out when the risk of frost has past.

 

Alternatively Sow in a sunny border between July - August when the soil warms up where they are to flower 5mm deep.

 

When the seedlings emerge thin them to achieve spacing the plants 45cm apart to flower the following year.
