This eye catching hardy annual is a German heritage variety it has large magenta pink flowers with deep purple blotches at the base of each petal they bloom on tall stems above grey green scalloped foliage during summer.

 

They are perfect summer colour for a sunny mixed border.

Sow March - May or September 

Loam, chalk or sandy soil thats acidic, alkaline or neutral 

Sow in a sunny border between March - May or during September to flower the following year into warm moist soil that's been finely raked where they are to flower 5mm deep.

 

When the seedlings emerge thin them to 25cm apart.
