This perennial herb has bright green leaves with a strong minty flavour and scent it bears small flowers during summer.

 

Grow in pots, window boxes or the herb garden for a long season of harvest.

 

Mint does have a tendency to spread so container growing may be advisable.

Sow thinly March to April indoors in seed trays 0.5cm deep water and place in a warm position 15 - 20 degrees and keep moist.

Transplant into small pots when they are large enough to handle, grow on in cooler conditions gradually accustom the plants to outside conditions.

 

Sow thinly from April - May outside where they are to grow 1.5cm deep into finely raked well drained soil that has already been watered. Thin the seedling to 30cm apart and keep well watered until the plants are established.
