Phlox Brilliancy Seeds

 

A compact half hardy annual with a bright mix of vibrant colours and a very free flowering habit.

 

Ideal for edging sunny borders and mixed container displays, it provides long lasting summer colour on neat, dwarf plants.

Sow February to May on a warm windowsill or in a propagator.

Germination 14 to 28 days in warm, steady conditions.

Soil and Position Loam, chalk, or sandy soils that are acidic, alkaline, or neutral. Plant in sun.

Height Approx 20 cm; compact, dwarf habit.

Flowering June to October; deadhead to prolong flowering.

 

Sowing instructions

 

Sow between February and May onto sieved, moist compost and press the seed down gently. Keep warm and evenly moist. When seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant into trays spacing plants 5 cm apart to grow on. Harden off and plant out after the last frost.

 

Grow and maintenance

 

Plant in full sun in free draining soil. Water regularly while establishing, then moderately. Deadhead spent blooms to encourage continued flowering. Trim back lightly after the first flush to promote further blooms.
