Nasturtium Black Velvet Seed - Irish Plants Direct

This easy to grow compact annual has deep velvet red flowers that bloom above an dark green foliage.

They bloom profusely during summer making them perfect for borders or containers.

Sow March - May

Germination time 7-10 days

Loam, chalk or sandy soil that's acidic, alkaline or neutral

Height 15 - 25cm

Flowering time June - September

Plant in sun

Planting ideas Hanging baskets, pots, containers, beds, borders, low maintenance, cottage, edible flowers

Deadhead to prolong flowering

Sow between March - May into individual pots 3 or 4 seeds per pot on a sunny window sill when the seedlings are large enough to handle pot into 7.5cm pots to grow on.

Plant out when all risk of frost has passed.

Alternatively sow the seed direct into baskets and containers from late April where they are to grow.
