Hollyhock Chaters Deep Purple Seeds - Irish Plants Direct
 
A tall architectural plant with beautiful deep purple double flowers that bloom during the second year after sowing.
 
They are perfect for that county garden feel in mixed border or against a sunny wall. 
 
Seed Qty 0.25 gram
 
Sow March - July
Germination takes 21 - 28 days
Loam, chalk or sandy soil that's acidic, alkaline or neutral 
Height 180 - 250cm
Plant in Sun
Flowering time August - September the following year 
Planting ideas Beds, Borders, cottage, coast, wildlife 
Also known as Alcea 
Cut down to the base after flowering.
May need staking
 
Sow between March - May on a warm window sill or propagator into trays of moist compost cover with 1.5cm of sieved compost.  
 
When the seedlings are large enough to handle transplant into 7.5 cm pots.
 
Plant out from July onwards for them to flower the following summer.
 
Can be sown outside where they are to flower between May and July.
