Forget Me Not Mix Seeds

A charming blend of classic forget me nots in mixed shades of blue pink and white with bright yellow centres.

 

Forget Me Not Mix forms neat clumps of soft hairy foliage that provide abundant spring colour and reliable ground cover for borders rockeries and shaded corners.

 

Biennial or short lived perennial in habit these plants are excellent for naturalising and are much loved by bees and early pollinators.

Sowing Instructions

 

Sow thinly on the surface or cover very lightly in trays or modules of moist seed compost. For spring flowering sow March to May and provide a cool period to aid germination. For autumn sowing sow August to September to allow seedlings to establish before winter. Keep at cool temperatures around 10 to 15°C and maintain even moisture without waterlogging. Transplant when large enough to handle and space 15 to 25 cm apart.

 

Direct sow into a well prepared weed free seedbed in autumn or early spring and thin to final spacing.

 

Grow in partial shade to full sun in cooler sites and in moist but well drained soil. Mulch lightly to retain moisture and avoid dry conditions. Deadhead spent flowers to encourage tidy growth and collect seed if naturalising is desired. Plants may self seed freely in suitable conditions thin seedlings to maintain clump vigour and lift or divide overcrowded clumps every 3 to 4 years.
