Foxglove Foxy Seeds - Irish Plants Direct

 

This stately cottage garden favourite has upright spikes of maroon spotted white, red, yellow, pink and lavender coloured flowers that stand on tall stems above lance shaped dark green foliage in summer.

 

They make a good addition to the back of a shady border plant in drifts for great effect. 

 

Attracts a variety of wildlife into the garden. 

 

This variety will flower in the first year if the seeds are sown in spring.

Sow February - May or April - July 

 

Sow February - May indoors on a window sill or in a propagator the temperature needs to be between 15°- 20°.

When the  plants are large enough to handle transplant them to trays spacing 5cm apart or individual pot. 

Gradually accustom the plants to out side planting out after the risk of frosts have passed. 

 

 

Sow outdoors April - July 5cm deep into finely raked soil that has been well watered.

 

Thin the seedlings to 5cm apart to grow on when they are large enough to handle plant into their final flowering position in Autumn.

 

Allow 25cm between plants to flower the following year.
