Foxtail Millet Grass Seeds - Irish Plants Direct

This dense decorative annual grass has broad light green leaves with long flower spikes.

These tall ornamental grasses are excellent for growing in summer flowering displays.

Cut and dry the cherry coloured blooms when they reach around 60cm, leaving a few for the birds over winter.

Loam, chalk or sandy soil that's acidic, all or neutral

Germination time 14 - 21 days

Plant in sun or part shade

Flowers June - September

Ideal in beds, borders, gravel, low maintenance,

Sow between March- May into a seed tray of moist compost leaving on a sunny window sill or in a propagator.

When the seedlings are large enough to handle pot on in to individual pots to grow on.

Gradually harden off the plants before planting them out after the risk of frost has passed.
