Elegant Lovegrass Seeds - Irish Plants Direct

This decorative ornamental grass is grown as an annual although it will survive as a perennial in milder areas.

The strappy green leaves and sprays of white flower spikelets during summer make a great addition to garden borders providing structure and movement.

The flowers can be used as cut or dried flowers.

Sow February - April

Loam, chalk or sandy soil that's acidic, alkaline or neutral

Germination time 14 - 21 days

Ideal in beds, borders, containers, gravel, low maintenance, cottage, rockeries

Sow the seed between February - April onto a tray of moist compost and leave on a sunny window sill and cover with a fine layer of compost.

Or place in a propagator maintain a temperature of 20° - 25°.

When the seedlings emerge clump several small seedlings together and pot into small individual pots to grow on.

Plant out where they are to grow from early summer.
