Sowing Instructions

 

Indoor Sowing:

 

Sow seeds indoors from February to May in seed trays or small pots filled with moist seed compost.

Press seeds lightly into the soil and cover with a thin layer of compost. Keep at a temperature of 18-21°C until germination.

Once seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant them into individual pots and grow on in a bright, frost-free location.

Outdoor Sowing:

 

Sow seeds directly outdoors in a prepared seedbed from April to June.

Sow thinly in rows or scattered, covering lightly with soil.

Thin seedlings to 30 cm apart as they grow.

Growing Tips:

 

Deadhead regularly to extend the flowering season.

Leave some seed heads on the plant in autumn to provide food for birds.

Divide clumps every 3-4 years to maintain vigour.
