Dianthus China Pink Mixed Seeds

A colourful and long flowering annual with frilled double and semi double blooms in rich shades of pink red and white.

 

Dianthus China Pink Double Mixed forms neat bushy plants with upright stems and narrow green foliage. The blooms appear singly or in clusters and are highly attractive to bees butterflies and hoverflies.

 

This easy to grow bedding favourite thrives in full sun and well drained soil and is ideal for borders containers and summer displays. It performs well in both formal and informal planting schemes and adds vibrant colour and texture to pollinator friendly gardens.

Sowing Instructions

 

Sow seeds thinly on the surface of moist well drained compost and lightly cover with fine soil or vermiculite. Maintain warmth at 18 to 22°C in a propagator or covered tray. Germination usually occurs within 2 to 3 weeks. Transplant seedlings into individual pots when large enough to handle. Harden off and plant out after last frost spacing 25 to 35 cm apart. For direct sowing wait until soil is warm and frost risk has passed.

 

Grow and Maintenance

 

Water regularly during dry spells and feed monthly with a balanced fertiliser. Deadhead spent blooms to encourage continued flowering. Dianthus prefers full sun and tolerates light drought once established. Suitable for borders containers and wildlife schemes.
