A tall graceful Cosmos producing large open faced blooms in a soft blend of white pink rose and carmine. Each flower is carried on long elegant stems above finely cut fern like foliage creating a light airy presence that moves beautifully in the summer breeze.

 

Cosmos Sensation Mixed is renowned for its height reliability and generous flowering. The wide petals and bright yellow centres attract bees butterflies and hoverflies while the plants themselves bring height and structure to borders and cutting gardens.

 

Ideal for cottage gardens wildlife schemes and any planting design that benefits from soft colour and natural movement.

 

This fast growing annual thrives in full sun and well drained soil flowering freely from midsummer until the first frosts. Sowing Instructions

Sow seeds on the surface of moist well drained compost and lightly cover with a fine layer of soil or vermiculite. Maintain a temperature of 15 to 20°C in a propagator or covered tray. Germination is usually quick and reliable. Transplant seedlings into individual pots when large enough to handle. Harden off and plant out after the last frost spacing 40 to 60 cm apart. For direct sowing wait until the soil has warmed and frost risk has passed.

 

Grow and Maintenance

Water regularly during dry spells and feed occasionally to support continuous flowering. Remove spent blooms to prolong the display. Cosmos bipinnatus thrives in full sun and poorer soils making it an excellent low maintenance choice for borders and cutting gardens. Taller plants may benefit from light staking in exposed areas.
