Cosmos Sensation Purity Seeds

A graceful and classic cosmos variety with large daisy shaped blooms in pure white.

 

Cosmos Sensation Purity produces masses of elegant flowers with golden yellow centres held on tall slender stems above finely cut fern like foliage. The airy habit and clean colouring make it ideal for background planting cutting gardens and wildlife borders.

 

This fast growing annual thrives in full sun and well drained soil flowering continuously from midsummer to autumn. It is easy to grow and loved by pollinators adding movement texture and long lasting brightness to any planting scheme.

Sow February to April indoors or direct from May

Germination 7 to 14 days at 15 to 20°C

Soil and Position Free draining fertile soil in full sun

Height/Spread 90 to 120 cm tall, 40 to 60 cm spread

Sowing Instructions

 

Sow seeds on the surface of moist well drained compost and lightly cover with fine soil or vermiculite. Maintain warmth at 15 to 20°C in a propagator or covered tray. Germination usually occurs within 1 to 2 weeks. Transplant seedlings into individual pots when large enough to handle. Harden off and plant out after last frost spacing 40 to 60 cm apart. For direct sowing wait until soil is warm and frost risk has passed.

 

Grow and Maintenance

 

Water regularly during dry spells and feed monthly with a balanced fertiliser. Deadhead spent blooms to encourage continued flowering. Cosmos prefers full sun and poor to moderately fertile soil. Suitable for borders cutting gardens and wildlife schemes.
