Cornflower Red Ball Seeds

A tall cottage garden cornflower producing rich rosy red double blooms on slender upright stems through the summer season.

 

Cornflower Red Ball is a striking annual known for its deep rosy red double flowers which stand out strongly against the soft grey green foliage and bring bold colour to borders meadows and naturalistic plantings.

 

Plants grow with an upright habit reaching impressive height and producing long branching stems that move gently in the breeze adding texture and movement to summer displays.

Spread fifteen to twenty centimetres

Sowing instructions

Sow thinly in shallow drills around five millimetres deep and cover lightly with soil

Keep moist until seedlings appear then thin to allow strong upright growth

Autumn sowings overwinter and flower earlier the following summer

Deadhead regularly to encourage continuous flowering

Support may be helpful in exposed sites due to tall stems

Water during prolonged dry spells but avoid waterlogging
