Sowing Instructions

 

For outdoor sowing, scatter seeds thinly in prepared soil from March to May. Cover lightly with soil and water gently. Once seedlings appear, thin them to 30 cm apart to allow for healthy growth.

 

For earlier blooms, sow seeds indoors from February to April in trays of fine compost. Lightly press seeds into the surface and cover with a thin layer of compost or vermiculite. Keep at a temperature of 18-21°C until germination. Transplant seedlings into individual pots when large enough to handle, and harden off before planting outdoors after the risk of frost has passed.

 

Water regularly, ensuring good drainage, and deadhead spent blooms to encourage continuous flowering.
