Chives Prager ORGANIC Herb Seeds - Irish Plants Direct

This popular perennial herb has long green leaves with a mild onion flavour and pretty edible pink flowers during summer.

These are an excellent companion plant for many vegetables and will also attract valuable wildlife into the garden.

Sow March - May or Year round inside

Loam soil that's alkaline, acidic or neutral

Harvest June - October or year round if grown in side.

Chives need well drained fertile soil in a sunny spot they are ideal for the window sill, containers and borders the attractive pink flowers are also edible.

The seed can be sown into pots on a sunny window sill any time of the year by sowing thinly into pots covering with a fine layer of compost.

Sow outdoors when the risk of frost has passed sowing thinly 1cm deep into drills 30cm apart.
