Black Cumin ORGANIC Herb Seeds - Irish Plants Direct
 
This easy to grow attractive annual herb is grown for its seed that has a similar flavour to aniseed with a hint of lemon. 
 
The pale blue star shaped flowers bloom during summer and are left until the seed pods turn brown before harvesting. 
The flowers could be cut and dried for decorative pur around the home. 
A nice addition to a sunny flowers border. 
 
Cut the seed heads off the plant and allow to dry saving any seed in an air tight container. 
 
Use the in Indian and Middle Eastern dishes.

Loam or sandy soil that's acidic, alkaline or neutral
Height 40cm - 60cm
Harvest September - October 
Companion plants Brassicas, beets and potatoes 
Harvest the seed heads when they turn brown by shaking them into an air tight container
A good source of vitamin calcium, iron and magnesium
Use in a variety of dishes including Indian and Oriental cuisine. 
 
Sow the seed into well raked prepared moist soil where they are to grow between March to June around 0.5cm deep when the plants emerge thin them to around 35cm apart and keep well watered until they are established.
