Germination 14 to 21 days at 20 to 24°C.

Soil and Position Free draining fertile soil in sun or partial shade.

Sowing Instructions

Sow seeds thinly on the surface of moist well drained compost without covering, as begonia seeds need light to germinate. Maintain temperatures at 20 to 24°C in a propagator or covered tray. Germination usually occurs within 2 to 3 weeks. Transplant seedlings into individual pots when large enough to handle. Harden off and plant out after last frost, spacing 20 to 25 cm apart.

 

Grow and Maintenance

Water regularly during dry spells and feed lightly with a balanced fertiliser to encourage abundant blooms. Remove spent flowers to prolong the display and maintain tidy growth. Wax Begonias thrive in sunny or lightly shaded positions and are excellent for bedding, borders, and containers.
