Sow September to March outdoors or in cool conditions
Germination 4 to 12 weeks with natural cold exposure
Soil and Position Moist humus rich soil in partial shade
Height and Spread 20 to 30 cm tall 20 to 40 cm spread

Sowing Instructions
Sow seeds on the surface of moist free draining compost and cover lightly with a fine layer of compost or leaf mould. Leave trays outdoors or in a cold frame to allow natural winter chilling. Keep the compost evenly moist until seedlings appear. Transplant young plants into individual pots before planting out into shaded positions
 
Grow and Maintenance
Water during dry spells and mulch with leaf mould to maintain moisture. Allow plants to naturalise for larger clumps. Harvest leaves before flowering for the best flavour. Protect young plants from slugs and snails in early spring
