Aquilegia Golden Columbine Seeds

Sowing Instructions

 

Mix seeds with damp sand and refrigerate for 4 to 6 weeks at 2–5°C. After stratification, sow on the surface of moist compost and press lightly without covering. Keep at 15 to 20°C until germination. Transplant into individual pots when large enough to handle. Harden off and plant outdoors after the last frost. Space plants 30 to 40 cm apart. For best results, sow early and allow plants to establish before flowering the following year.

 

Grow and Maintenance

 

Water regularly during dry spells and mulch in spring. Deadhead to prolong flowering or allow to self-seed. Divide clumps every 3 to 4 years in spring. Suitable for borders, woodland gardens, and pollinator planting.
