Aquilegia Koralle Seeds

A graceful and free flowering perennial grown for its elegant bi coloured blooms and delicate nodding flower form.

 

Columbine Koralle forms upright plants with slender branching stems and distinctive spurred flowers that attract bees butterflies and other friendly pollinators.

Sowing Instructions

Sow seeds thinly in trays of moist well drained compost Lightly cover with fine soil and keep in a cool bright place as aquilegia germinates best at lower temperatures Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle spacing 30 to 40 cm apart Harden off indoor seedlings and plant out after the last frost

Alternatively sow directly into prepared soil in late spring or early autumn

 

Grow and Maintenance

Water regularly during establishment then moderately once plants are growing strongly Columbines thrive in sunny or lightly shaded positions Remove spent flower stems to encourage fresh blooms and cut back after flowering to maintain shape Plants may self seed gently adding to naturalistic plantings
