Ageratum, also known as Floss Flower, is a reliable summer bedding plant grown for its soft, cushion like blooms.

 

The mixed selection offers a range of pastel shades including blue, lavender, pink, rose, and white. These long lasting flowers are highly attractive to pollinators and provide a continuous display throughout the summer months.

Germination 7 to 21 days at 18 to 21°C

Soil and Position Fertile, well drained soil in full sun. Prefers sheltered sites

Height/Spread 20 to 70 cm tall depending on mix, 20 to 30 cm spread

Sowing Instructions

 

Sow seeds on the surface of moist compost and press lightly without covering, as light aids germination. Keep at 18 to 21°C until seedlings appear. Transplant into individual pots when large enough to handle. Harden off and plant outdoors after the last frost, spacing 20 to 30 cm apart.

 

Grow and Maintenance

 

Water regularly during dry spells and feed with a balanced fertiliser every two weeks once flowering begins. Deadhead spent blooms to encourage continuous flowering. Protect from frost as plants are half?hardy.
