Wild Black Cherry Tree Seeds - Irish Plants

A tall deciduous statley looking tree with stunning pink blossom during spring followed by small black fruits from late summer

The leaves take on an orange and yellow colour during autumn providing a long season of interest.

Germination time 4 - 10 weeks

Well drained neutral to acidic soil

Height 3 - 6 metres

Plant in sun

Keep the seed sealed in a plastic bag and place in the fridge for a week before sowing.

Sow the seed year round into pots of moist compost 1cm deep and place on a sunny window sill or in a propagator the temperature needs to be between 20°

Cover the pot with clear polythene to retain moisture.

Remove regularly so mould doesn't form.

When the plants are large enough to handle transplant into individual pots to grow on.
