A charming and easy to grow annual producing masses of daisy like flowers in shades of golden yellow and orange, often with a darker ring at the base of the petals.

 

Ursinia, also known as Mountain Marigold or Parachute Daisy, brings vibrant colour and natural charm to borders, wildflower meadows, and cottage gardens.

Sow March to May outdoors or under cover.

Germination 10 to 20 days at 15 to 20°C.

Soil and Position Free draining fertile soil in full sun.

Height/Spread 20 to 40 cm tall, 20 to 30 cm spread.

Flowering June to September.

 

Sowing Instructions

Sow seeds thinly in prepared soil or trays, covering lightly with fine soil. Keep moist until germination. Thin or transplant seedlings when large enough to handle, spacing 20 to 30 cm apart. For best results sow directly outdoors once the soil has warmed and frost risk has passed.

 

Grow and Maintenance

Water regularly during dry spells and feed lightly with a balanced fertiliser to encourage abundant blooms. Deadhead spent flowers to prolong the display and maintain tidy growth. Ursinia thrives in sunny positions and is excellent for informal borders, wildflower plantings, and seasonal displays.
