Squash Hokkaido Orange ORGANIC Seeds - Irish Plants Direct

This early maturing variety is fast growing variety producing small bright orange fruits with soft skins and yellow coloured flesh with a sweet nutty flavour.

Sow March - May

Germination 7 - 21 days

Loam or sandy soil that's acidic or neutral

Harvest August - October

Companion plants Corn, Pumpkins, Nasturtium

Harvest by cutting the fruit off the plant

A good source of A, C and E

Uses bake, roast or make delicious soup

Sow between March - April into 9cm pots placing 2 seeds on their side 1.5 cm deep place on a sunny window sill or propagator.

Keeping moist remove the weaker seeding when they emerge and grow on the stronger one.

When the plants get 4/5 leaves gently accustom them to the outside and plant out when the risk of frost has passed leaving 90cm between plants.

Alternatively sow outside from late May 90cm apart placing 2 seeds in the ground 1.5cm deep remove the weaker seedling when they emerge.
