Sage ORGANIC Herb Seed

Sage (Salvia officinalis) is a hardy, aromatic herb prized for its earthy flavour, medicinal properties, and ornamental beauty.

 

This organic variety produces soft, grey-green leaves with a rich, savoury taste, perfect for seasoning meats, stuffing, soups, and herbal teas. In summer, elegant spikes of lavender-blue flowers appear, attracting bees and pollinators while adding a decorative touch to herb gardens.

Sowing Instructions

 

Start seeds indoors from February to May in trays or small pots filled with fine compost. Sow seeds 0.5 cm deep, keeping the soil moist and maintaining a temperature of 18–21°C. Transplant outdoors once seedlings are strong and all risk of frost has passed.

 

Direct sow from April to July in a sunny, well-drained location. Sow thinly at a depth of 0.5 cm and space seedlings 30 cm apart once established. Water sparingly to prevent root rot and prune regularly to promote bushy growth.
