Sage Herb Seed - Irish Plants Direct
 
This perennial semi evergreen herb has fragrant grey green rounded leaves with scented purple blue flowers during summer.
 
Excellent for attracting valuable wildlife into the garden. 
 
Use for flavouring various cooked dishes or as a medicianal herb. 
 
Use the leaves to make a tea that is rich in antioxidants and vitamins that promotes oral health and may help lower cholesterol amonst many other benefits.

Loam, chalk or sandy soil that's acid, alkaline or neutral

Sage can be used in a variety of meat dishes, stuffings and mediterranean dishes.
 
Sow the seed into well raked prepared moist soil between March to April around 13mm deep when the plants emerge thin them to around 40cm apart.
 
Alternatively sow February to March into trays on a warm window sill. The seedlings will emerge in around 10 - 21 days grow on and when they are large enough to handle transplant into pots to grow on. Gradually accustom the plant to the outside and plant out whe the risk of frost has passed.
