Dwarf Rudbeckia Toto Mixed forms neat bushy plants with dark green foliage and a profusion of sturdy flower heads from midsummer to autumn. The blooms are highly attractive to bees and butterflies and bring bold colour to borders, containers, and wildlife friendly gardens.

Sowing Instructions

 

Sow seeds thinly on the surface of moist well drained compost and lightly cover with fine soil or vermiculite. Maintain warmth at 18 to 22°C in a propagator or covered tray. Germination usually occurs within 2 to 3 weeks. Transplant seedlings into individual pots when large enough to handle. Harden off and plant out after last frost spacing 30 to 40 cm apart. For direct sowing wait until soil is warm and frost risk has passed.

 

Grow and Maintenance

 

Water during dry spells and feed monthly with a balanced fertiliser. Deadhead spent blooms to encourage continued flowering. Rudbeckia prefers full sun and benefits from good air circulation. Suitable for borders containers and wildlife schemes.
