Rocket Buzz All Year Round Herb Seeds - Irish Plants Direct

Fast, easy to grow salad leaves with bright green appearance and a delicious peppery taste best picked when young; slow to bolt and suitable for year round harvests when grown under cover.

Sow April to August into a finely raked seed bed in rows 25 cm apart; cover with 0.5 cm of soil and keep moist.

Germination 7 to 14 days in warm moist conditions.

Soil and Position Loam or sandy soil that is neutral or slightly alkaline in full sun to partial shade.

Harvest May to October by picking young leaves; can be grown under cover for all year round harvests.

Sowing instructions

Sow thinly into prepared seed beds at about 0.5 cm depth and keep the seedbed evenly moist for reliable germination.

No heavy thinning required; sow every 2 to 3 weeks for a continuous crop and pick leaves when young and tender.

Grow and maintenance

Keep soil fertile and moisture retentive; rake in a balanced fertiliser before sowing if necessary.

Water regularly during dry spells to prevent bolting and maintain leaf tenderness.

Protect early sowings with cloches or under cover for autumn and winter cropping and ensure good airflow to reduce disease risk.
